Research Fellow in Concentrating Solar Thermal Manufacturing

Cranfield University is creating leaders in technology and management, unlocking the potential of people and organisations by partnering with business and governments to deliver transformational research, postgraduate education and professional development

Cranfield Manufacturing is one of the eight major themes at Cranfield University. Our capability is world-leading and combines a multi-disciplinary approach that integrates design, technology and management expertise.

Within our Concentrating Solar Power (CSP) research team, you will work closely with colleagues on the EU-funded SOLWATT project to develop innovative technologies to reduce water consumption in CSP plants, and analyse the socio-economic impact on local communities.

You will be educated to doctoral level (or close to completion) in a relevant science or engineering subject and have experience of technological research using both qualitative and quantitative methods. With excellent communication skills, you will have expertise in thermal energy, optics, or mechanical engineering. Experience in the CSP industry or research environment would be an advantage.

For an informal discussion, please contact Dr Chris Sansom, Associate Professor in Concentrating Solar Power, on (T); +44 (0)1234 752955 or +44 (0)1234 750111 Ext. 2955 or (E);

At Cranfield we value Diversity and Inclusion, and aim to create and maintain a culture in which everyone can work and study together harmoniously with dignity and respect and realise their full potential.
