Role Description

We welcome applications from prospective Research Fellows in Trust and Sensing for Autonomy with experience in designing, training, and validation of machine learning, to work in the Centre for Autonomous and Cyber-physical Systems. This exciting new role (2 posts) is co-developed with a strategic UK industrial partner and dedicated to the identified research areas of autonomy.

About the Role

Our reputation for leading in the field of digital systems: sensor data, communications, machine learning, and reasoning - has been established through more than thirty years of research into this field. The centre you would be joining is primarily focused in research on autonomy, leading significant projects in trustworthy and secure AI for future autonomous air and land systems.

About You

You will be educated to doctoral level in a relevant subject and your skills & knowledge will mean you can contribute to research & teaching activities such as (1) research in machine learning for autonomous systems (especially in sensor integration for navigation, and/or trustworthy explainable AI), (2) engage with our commercial defence partner to develop current and future research, and (3) assist in activities in the group with other academics. You will be expected to collaborate with the existing staff working in the same centre and have communications and meetings with our collaborators, the industrial partner at various sites across UK. In return, the 2 successful applicants will have exciting opportunities for career development in this key position, and to be at the forefront of world leading research and education, joining a supportive team and environment.
