Role Description

Timetable Manager

We are currently expanding our MK:U acceleration project team and inviting applications for the post of Timetable Manager

About the Role

Reporting to the Head of Projects and Operations this role is an opportunity to join the team at an early stage and lead on timetable strategy and delivery for MK:U, working closely across the academic and operational teams to co-ordinate MK:U’s growing education portfolio.

This role sits at the heart of MK:U. We offer 15-36 month courses and as the Timetable Manager you will have a significant impact on student experience, MK:U’s operations, our brand reputation and securing both student and business prospects. You will need to plan ahead, defining the timing of modules across the full course portfolio as well as the detailed timetable for the next 18-20 months of each cohort, co-ordinating module sharing and negotiating with academics and with clients. In addition, you will also take responsibility for longer-term timetabling advising Executive decision-making on timings and scheduling of new long and short courses, something which will be vital to the delivery of the business plan and of long-term financial sustainability.

About you

We are open to ideas and think creatively about our resourcing needs.   We are seeking people to join the team who are as a passionate as we are about the educational needs of our current and future workforce.  You must be excited about education innovation and about the idea of further developing MK:U as a new technology university in Milton Keynes.

As the Timetable Manager you will have previous timetabling experience and must have expertise in using Excel and working with large data sets. You will have an eye for accuracy and for spotting anomalous results / errors and possible clashes well before they occur.  You will be proactive in identifying trends in data analysis and be able to present data effectively to senior managers to support strategic decision-making.

In addition, you will be able to demonstrate your resilience and ability to work within a fast paced, rapidly changing environment along with the interpersonal & communication skills that will allow you to convey detailed information in a clear and concise format.

You must have a degree level qualification and experience of timetabling and/ or of business process improvement. Whilst you do not need prior knowledge of the Higher Education sector, you will be expected to develop your understanding quickly and demonstrate your ability to take charge of a key business process and adapt it with agility and responsiveness to changes in the business.

Please note that due to the nature of this position, any offer of employment will be subject to a satisfactory DBS check.
